What to Bring?
The Bloomfield - Eastern Greene Public Library will be supplying (free of charge) oil paints, brushes, canvas, easels, and everything else you need to paint the landscape. However, if you prefer to use your own supplies and painting gear, feel free to bring those as well.
This workshop is limited to ten students. Additional students will be put on a waitlist for the following three workshops.

Lawrence County Historical and Genealogical Museum What to Bring? Students will be responsible for their own supplies and materials. Wyatt will be doing demonstrations with oil paint, but feel free to bring whatever medium you’re most comfortable using. Acrylic paint, watercolor, and pastel are acceptable media for the workshop. Along with your paint, make sure to bring your brushes, canvas, paper towel, an easel if you have one, and anything else you might need to create your artwork.
Cost: $40 per student

Artist Wyatt LeGrand, owner of LeGrand Art Studio & Gallery in Bloomfield, will be putting on a painting workshop on Saturday, February 20th at the Bloomfield – Eastern Greene County Public LIbrary and March 20th at the Linton Public Library. Join Wyatt to take part in a three hour workshop that will focus on painting from observation and capturing a subject quickly and effectively. Refine your painting skills while receiving one-on-one instruction from an experienced artist and teacher.

What will you learn?
Wyatt will be using still-life to teach the fundamentals of painting from observation. After reviewing the basics of composition and color theory, Wyatt will demonstrate a method of painting that makes it easy to quickly and accurately capture the subject before you. Learn tips and tricks that make painting even the most complicated subjects easier. Through demonstration and personalized instruction, Wyatt will break down the complexities of painting for each student, ensuring that everyone leaves the workshop with a great painting and a better understanding of the artistic process.

My Art: Where it Comes From and Where it’s Going
Join Wyatt LeGrand for a discussion on the influences that have helped shape his artwork. The lecture will include a brief history of the artist, an overlook of his studies and practices, and a conversation on continuing and preserving the arts in our community through appreciation and education.
The evening will end with a demonstration of Wyatt’s painting technique and a viewing of some of the artist’s recent work. Artwork and prints will be available for sale at this event.
Those attending Wyatt’s lecture will have an early opportunity to sign up for a 1-day painting workshop that will be held at the Linton Public Library on Saturday, March 20th. There will also be sign-ups available for upcoming oil painting classes and private art lessons offered at LeGrand Art Studio & Gallery.
